一直没有深究这个问题：**Chrome的新内核，为什么要叫Blink？**实际上，仔细想想，每个名字背后可能都有一个怪谈似的故事，等待人们去挖据出来成为茶余饭后的谈资，就像Java本名一样。
直到前几天看到这篇 Paul Iris 访谈(Paul Irish on Chrome Moving to Blink)，才明白还有这么一出：
Why the name “Blink,” anyway?
Haha. Well… it’s a two parter. First, Blink evokes a certain feeling of speed and simplicity—two core principles of Chrome. Then, Chrome has a little tradition of slightly ironic names. Chrome itself is all about minimizing the browser chrome, and the Chromebook Pixel is all about not seeing any pixels at all. So naturally, it fits that Blink will never support the infamous<blink>tag. ;)
Blink能代表Chrome两个最核心的原则：速度和简单，这一点大部分人都能想到。因为Blink确实能给人这么一种感觉。但至少我不知道Chrome讽刺性的命名传统，没能将 Chromebook Pixel 中的 Pixel 和其对立面联系起来——众所周知Chromebook Pixel是一款高分屏笔记本，我一直以为 Pixel 代表的是高分屏的像素之多，但实则，却是更简单的反面——“你看不到像素点”。
所以自然也就不会想到，Blink还会暗合这种古里古怪的牵强的命名传统，即Chrome绝不再支持臭名昭著的 <blink> 标签。
